Jenny Levitsky’s career as a Commercial and Residential Designer began after decades of experience as a professional designer in industries ranging from stage and theater design to Concert promotion design to designing in the film and television industries.
While studying stage and set design in college, she landed a core role as one of the backstage and dressing room theme designers for Bill Graham Presents where Jenny worked at hundreds of concert events and venues, working with iconic artists like the Rolling Stones, Madonna, The Grateful Dead and The Who and such large scale collaborative events including Live Aid and We Are The World. Then later her extensive background in the entertainment industry as an expert in theatrical set design earned her an Emmy Award in Set Design in 1996, and a nomination for a second Emmy in 1997 for her work with Brian Henson Productions.
Jenny’s extraordinary thumbprint on artistic style also led to hospitality design, working with Michael McClernon, formerly the head chef of the Bill Graham catering team, helping design his first restaurant, La Paloma. Jenny went on to design the 19th Ave Diners upstairs bar, fashioned after Hunter S. Thompson, as an old world library hangout as well as the tropical themed interior at the Oasis, a San Francisco night club and assisted with the conception, look and space planning for the Josie Restaurant in Santa Monica, named and owned by world famous chef, Jose Le Balsh.
Ultimate Designs (previously Wilkinson Designs) was founded in 1985 after Jenny (then Wilkinson) completed her undergraduate studies in interior design, film and theatrical set design. After moving to the Northern California foothills in 2010, her focus became more specific to residential and commercial projects. Ultimate Designs specializes in interior architecture, overall home remodeling, kitchen and bath design, new home design/build projects as well as commercial and hospitality design- specifically restaurants, storefronts and wineries.
Jenny has the ability and knowledge to create your vision from concept to reality with the use of Chief Architect, a CAD program that enables her to show clients 3D photo like renderings of her design options before any work has started. Jenny prides herself as a designer that not only creates unique, one of a kind designs for your project, but also uses her vast experience as a specialist to make sure that the design of your project is functional and fits with your lifestyle, whether it’s a chef’s kitchen for your home or designing a thematic environment for your commercial or hospitality project.

This is where we start. Being in the space is good for inspiration and is where we discuss your project, your wishes and your needs. Then we measure!
CAD Drawings and Plans
We draw up your floor plan and start the design options. This is the next step for any space planning, renderings or cabinet design layouts.
This is where we pull the look together (the form). You might have one surface you love, so we build from there, making sure all the other surfaces work together to create a beautiful design.
Project Review (for DIY’ers)
If you are a “Do it Yourself” type but want to make sure you are on the right path, we can review your plans and help where needed.
We make sure that your new space works with how you plan to use it (the function). We work with different options, using 3D rendering views so you can visualize how the new space will work for your needs.
Typically we pull together the color scheme in the “Specifications” phase of our design work making sure that all of your product specs look perfect against the right color paint. If you only need help tying your color scheme together, we offer an independent service as a color consultant for your design project.
Custom Cabinet Design
We carry some incredible lines of custom cabinets and have great relationships with our local cabinet builders. This variety of options allows us to meet all of our customers needs.
Design Center & Showroom
Ultimate Designs kitchen and bath showroom is located in a flooring design center up in the foothills of Placerville, California where we have created a one-stop shop for our residential clientele. We carry hardwood, carpet, and tile flooring, stone for back splashes and showers, custom cabinets, vanities, decorative sinks and cabinet hardware. Come on in a look around!
Our photo quality renderings really allows you to see your finished space. We can move the camera to offer different points of view so that you can see the space from all angles, taking the guess work out of the process.
At Ultimate Designs, our process is about client and designer working together as creative partners to design a space that is personal and unique. We allow you to dream about the big picture while we stay focused on detailed issues such as scale, proportion, style, longevity, color, balance, functionality and more.
We know that a new project or remodel can be a challenging venture, so our goal is to make the process as easy as possible for you. Creating a unique and functional kitchen or bathroom takes planning, creativity, communication and coordination, and this is a process that we are passionate about.
Some clients have a very strong vision and only need help implementing their designs, while others are unsure of how to begin. Whether you need your plans reviewed before starting a project or you want someone to take it from conception to reality, we are here to help! Our process includes five phases, each depending on the complexity of your project and your needs.
Phase 1 : Design Consultation and Space Planning
This is the beginning phase if we are changing the “footprint” of your space. We consult with you about your goals on your project, then measure the space and draw the existing space with our CAD program. Then we start designing options to achieve your goals, while fully collaborating with you to make sure that we are on the right path.
Phase 2: Cabinet Design and/or Case Goods
Whether it’s for your kitchen or a commercial space, we work with the “built in” items such as cabinets or case goods, designing the colors and styles to achieve your new design.
Phase 3: Design Specifications
For interior design projects, both residential and commercial, we help you to specify all of the surfaces, fixtures and fittings for your project. This can include flooring, lighting, counters, back splash, shower and tub tile surrounds, faucets, appliances, fireplace stone or veneer, windows, doors, cabinet hardware, door hardware and cabinet accessories.
Phase 4: Project Management & Product Implementation
During this phase, we help you pull all the planning together and order your surfaces, schedule your deliveries and installations and take care of all quality control on the work that is being done. We are your advocates and the liaison between you and the contractor. We communicate any concerns on your behalf to all contracted vendors if things are not done to satisfaction, and most importantly, we make sure that you are happy with the results. You will never hear us say, “it’s good enough”. Those three words are not part of our vocabulary or collaboration! The project is never complete until it is done right and is the best that it can possibly be.
We believe in design first, sales second.
Our showroom was created to help our clients find the various items needed to create the designs of their dreams in a “one stop shop”. Our intimate showroom includes all the necessary design elements for any project and is surrounded by multiple options of flooring and tile products. This provides convenience and availability to pull together the specifications needed, by bringing them directly to your project site for review, or by having them ready for you to browse inside the showroom, eliminating the time it takes traveling the area to find the perfect elements for your project.
We find that most people have really good taste for specifics, but when it comes to pulling it all together, it becomes a bit tricky. At the design center, we have the ability to pull all the elements together so you can make sure all your items will work seamlessly to create the look you are trying to achieve.
We have four styles of Semi Custom Cabinets
(customizable to 1/16th of an inch)
Frameless (or European)
Face Frame (with full or partial overlay doors)
Builder Grade Face Frame (fewer door styles and colors with the same great construction)
Inset or Flush Doors.
All of our semi-custom cabinets come in either solid plywood box or MDF and all have wood face frames, doors and dove tail drawer boxes. We have many wood species, colors and various door styles to choose from.
We also offer
Custom Teak Cabinetry that is made of reclaimed material from large abandoned buildings in Indonesia. These cabinets give the option to go truly “green”, both because they are reclaimed and because there are no VOC’s or formaldehyde used in producing these cabinets. They take a bit longer lead time, but to get a truly unique, durable and stylish product, it’s worth the wait!
